 World First Aid Day Celebrated

Every year, under the coordination of the International Federation of Kızılhaç and Kızılay Societies, the second Saturday of September is celebrated as “World First Aid Day” by all National Societies in cooperation with the relevant institutions and organizations in their countries and with their volunteers. The International Federation of Kızılhaç and Kızılay Societies, Global First Aid Reference Center has chosen “First Aid and Sport” as the theme for World First Aid Day 2024. The chosen theme emphasizes the critical role of first aid in sporting environments for all ages and aims to ensure the safety of athletes, spectators and communities worldwide.

 

The celebration of World First Aid Day was held on Friday, September 13, 2024 to ensure the participation of the students of our University.

 

The celebration of this important day was carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Kızılay Bursa Provincial Center, the Provincial Directorate of National Education and Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Sports Sciences and the students taking BYL 4126 Standard First Aid course, which was opened in the summer semester in the Biology department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and conducted by Assoc. Prof. Egemen DERE.

 

In the event, first aid was applied by our students to athletes who were injured and injured in volleyball, basketball and table tennis as a mise-en-scene. Our students also demonstrated Basic Life Support applications on models to the audience.

 

At the end of the event, students who were successful in the standard first aid course were given internationally valid first aid certificates free of charge by the Kızılay
