Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Faculty of Dentistry, which was approved about 25 years ago but could not start serving actively for many years, was founded two years ago by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim was put into operation with the help of GUIDE and city dynamics. The dream of the university administration to build a faculty building within the campus is becoming a reality with the support of philanthropic businessman İbrahim GÜLMEZ from Bursa.

As the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haksan Automotive company operating in Bursa, businessperson İbrahim GÜLMEZ will support the construction of 7050 square meters and three blocks of the Faculty of Dentistry Building, which will consist of 12,500 square meters and five blocks in total. The first phase works of the construction will be laid in the first months of 2022 in the Görükle Campus, and it is aimed to complete within 48 months.

The building donation protocol of BUU Faculty of Dentistry was signed in Bursa Governorship. At the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol led by Bursa Governor Yakup CANBOLAT, BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Adem DOĞANGÜN, Prof. Dr. Ferudun YILMAZ, Prof. Dr. İrfan KIRISTIOĞLU, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haksan Oto. Mam. Ind. and Comm. Inc. İbrahim GÜLMEZ, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAM, faculty administrators, and Union Foundation Bursa Branch President Mustafa BAYRAKTAR were present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Yakup CANBOLAT said that the Dentistry Building, built with philanthropic businessman İbrahim GÜLMEZ, will significantly contribute to Bursa, the region's people, and the university. BUU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ pointed out that although the faculty has existed for a long time, they had to give education to students in different places because it did not have an existing building. Rector KILAVUZ stated that with the building to be built on the campus, a visible improvement would be achieved in dentistry in terms of academic, scientific, and education.

Besides, Dean Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAM thanked the philanthropic businessman İbrahim GÜLEMZ and everyone who contributed to the acquisition of the building on behalf of the faculty management, academics, and students. Haksan Automotive, Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim GÜLMEZ, also stated that they are very pleased to support education investments in Bursa.
