Higher Education Council (YÖK) Presidency appointed Prof. Dr. Alper PAMPU as the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ).

Continuing his duty as the founding Dean of BUU Faculty of Dentistry for 4 years, Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAMhanded over his duties to Prof. Dr. Alper to PAMPU. The handover ceremony held in the Basic Sciences Building was attended by BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İrfan KIRIŞTIOĞLU, Prof. Dr. Ferudun YILMAZ, Prof. Dr. Adem DOĞANGÜN, faculty administrators, academicians and administrative staff.

“EARTHQUAKE DISASTER IS A BIG EXAM FOR ALL OF US”

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ emphasized that the earthquake disaster caused a great sadness for them as well as for the whole country. Noting that as a university, they have continued their work from the first moment in order to provide all kinds of support within the possibilities, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ said; “We see the disaster as a huge test for all of us. We wish God's mercy on our citizens who lost their lives, and we wish healing to the injured. We pray that our citizens who are under the rubble will be rescued safely. We sincerely believe that our State and Nation will overcome this test with solidarity. May Allah be pleased with the authorities, civil defense teams and all our volunteer citizens working in the region. We wish them all the best,".

Underlining that they continue to work in order not to interrupt the current operation, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim KILAVUZ pointed out that as a result of the appointment made by the YÖK Presidency, a flag change has occurred in the Faculty of Dentistry. Continuing his duty successfully and devotedly for 4 years as the Founding Dean, Rector KILAVUZ thanking Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAM; said that: “he worked hard for the establishment of the faculty. Afterwards, he spent a lot of time in the selection of the academic staff. Then he made an effort to plan educational activities. Later, he made an agreement with the philanthropic businessman İbrahim Gülmez for the construction of the faculty building. Our building is rising fast. Hopefully, we will open it in the future. We would like to thank to Halil SAĞLAM for his work, support and all his contributions. We wish success and convenience to Prof. Dr. Alper PAMPU in his new position.”

NEW DEAN HANDED OVER HIS NEW DUTY

Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAM who handed over his duty to Prof. Dr. Alper Pampu, on the other hand, stated that they have signed dozens of projects during their tenure, they have done a lot of work, and they have completed at least a 5-year corporate vision plan of the faculty with a good team. Stating that he will continue to serve the faculty in the new term, Prof. Dr. Halil SAĞLAM thanked the university administration and all his teammates for their contributions and support.

Starting his career as the Dean of BUU Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Alper PAMPU also thanked everyone who deemed him worthy of this task. Prof. Dr. Alper PAMPU noted that they will continue to work with the same determination in line with the goals of the Faculty.
