There was enthusiasm for March 27 World Theater Day at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Fine Arts.
The celebration, organized jointly by BUU Faculty of Fine Arts and BUU Karagöz and Puppet Plays Research and Application Center (KARAKUM), was held in the Martyr Petty Officer Feyyaz İlhan hall of the Mudanya campus of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, and the opening speeches were made by Faculty Dean Prof. Ali Sait Liman and Deputy Dean and KARAKUM Director Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Öztahtalı did it.
After Performing Arts Department student Simge Bilen read the "27 March World Theater Day National Declaration", Hayali Nevzat Çiftçi staged the play Karagöz, one of the popular genres of traditional Turkish theatre. The play titled "Karagöz's Doctorate", undertaken by dramaturge Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Öztahtalı, attracted great attention from the audience.
At the end of the program, Dean Prof. Ali Sait Liman thanked everyone who contributed to the preparation and staging of the play and presented Çiftçi with a flower as a souvenir of the day.
