Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) students left their mark on the Ünilig Fetih Spor Fest canoe races held in Istanbul.
Canoe races were held in the Bosphorus within the scope of the Unilig Fetih Sports Fest organization, organized in cooperation with the Turkish University Sports Federation and Fatih Municipality. In the canoe races where athletes from different universities took part, BUÜ students managed to make their name in the top 3 in Turkey.
TOP 3 IN WOMEN, TURKISH CHAMPIONSHIP IN MEN BUÜ'S
Competing in the Canoeing section of the organization, which also included Dragon Boat, Sailing, Traditional Archery and Cross Country (Road Running), the athletes from BUÜ left their rivals behind and won the first 3 places in K1 Women and the 1st place in K1 Men in Turkey. Tuğçe Taylak from Bursa Uludağ University ranked 1st, Müge Kaya 2nd, and Eslemnur Gezen 3rd in Canoe Turkey Championship Women's K1 category. In the K1 Men's category, Adem Ergül from Bursa Uludağ University became the 1st in Türkiye. Young people who are students at BUU Faculty of Sports Sciences received their awards from the officials of the Turkish University Sports Federation.

Noting that the success achieved makes them proud, BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Guide emphasized that the athletes who carry out their studies within the university continue to achieve the highest level of success in almost every branch. Rector Guide, who underlined that they have started to get very valuable results in many fields in recent years; “Our students continue to get results that make us all proud, especially in national teams and in individual sports. This also makes us happy as the university administration. We give our best support to our young athletes to prepare themselves for the tournaments in the best way possible. We wish that not only their education but also the development of their sports careers will continue. They also continue to work diligently on this issue. Each of them is extremely valuable to us. I congratulate all our young people who work, develop themselves and reach success. I would like to thank coach Deniz Yılmaz, who prepared them for these victories, and our other teachers and administrative staff for their efforts.”
