We would like to congratulate our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Mardani, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, whose project titled ‘Investigation of Self-Cleaning Smart Cementitious Material Production’ was supported within the scope of Bursa Uludag University Scientific Research Projects Unit-Priority Areas Research Projects, and wish him continued success!
In this project, a combination of TiO2 hydrophobic nano-mixture and TiO2 hydrophobic nano-particles in the form of surface coating was produced and it was aimed to use nano-technology, one of the latest technologies in the physical protection and self-cleaning of cementitious systems. It is aimed to provide a product with sustainable, ecological, and economic aspects by using a hydrophobic nano-mixture that is inexpensive and environmentally harmless. In addition, it is planned to use hydrophobic coatings in 3D Concrete mixtures where interfacial gaps between layers are inevitable as a result of layer-by-layer production. It is thought that this project will contribute to the popularisation of 3D Concrete mixtures in the construction industry. In this three-year project, 2 graduate students will work as scholarship holders.
