TÜBİTAK 1001 SUPPORT TO THE INNOVATIVE NANO TREATMENT MODEL PROJECT IN BRAIN TUMORS

Scientific evaluation results of the projects proposed to the Research Support Programs Directorate (ARDEB) in the 1st term of 2021 within the scope of the 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program by UBITAK have been announced.

One project sent by Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) academicians for the first semester was awarded the right to be supported by passing the evaluation results. From BUU Faculty of Medicine.Prof. Dr. Berrin Tunca's project was accepted.

STUDIES CONTINUE

With the accepted project, it is aimed to develop a product that can prevent recurrence by applying it on the cells left after surgery in brain tumors. In line with this goal, studies are carried out to ensure regular release of layered hybrid nanofibers loaded with active substance, to explain the effect of layered hybrid nanofibers loaded with effective molecules on suppressing tumor aggressiveness at genetic, epigenetic and protein levels, and to demonstrate the in-vivo usability of this product.

ECONOMIC METHODS IN THE TREATMENT OF BRAIN TUMOR

As a result of the successful completion of the planned project, it will be possible to contribute to the development of a nano-product that can support more effective treatment protocols with less side effects and more economical in the treatment of brain tumors. Thus, it is predicted that the product may be an economical treatment model that can be used to prevent recurrence in the treatment of brain tumors.
