Education is the guarantee of the future, and teachers are the guarantee of education. In order to secure the future, since 1981, our Department of Music Education has been conducting educational and instructional activities with the aim of training qualified music teachers with high professional skills in teaching, in accordance with the requirements of the era, combining the magical power and unique beauty of music art with the intricacies of the teaching profession. Our national teaching program, implemented at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, includes teacher profession knowledge courses as well as theoretical courses related to international art music and our traditional music, and education in Western and Turkish music instruments is provided in line with the requirements of the teaching profession. Our expert academic staff continues to work with the effort to support the versatile development of our prospective music teachers by frequently organizing high-level artistic, scientific, and cultural extracurricular activities in our well-equipped independent building.
Our dual agreements under the Erasmus+ program, signed with 13 music institutions in five different countries, which allow our prospective music teachers to experience extraordinary experiences and get to know various cultural elements abroad, distinguish our Department. In addition to Erasmus, the Farabi and Mevlana student exchange programs are also effective in providing our incoming and outgoing students with different perspectives.
Our Department has been accredited by the Teacher Training Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (EBDAD) valid from 16.04.2022 to 16.04.2025.
Our Department maintains its leading position among the numerous Departments of Music Education in our country due to its high academic reputation and is often the preferred choice. Additionally, the success of our graduates in their professional lives as music teachers is a source of pride and strengthens our strength as a reflection of our educational quality.
I congratulate all prospective music teachers who have joined or plan to join the Department of Music Education family, with the desire to become the ideal music teachers who will illuminate the bright futures of the new generations, and wish them continued success.
