A dietitian is a health professional who has successfully completed a 4-year Nutrition and Dietetics education-training program and earned a "Nutrition and Dietetics Bachelor's Degree" and is eligible to practice this profession.

Dietitian is a health profession that organizes individual and collective nutrition plans and programs in line with the principles of nutritional science in order to protect and develop the health of all individuals throughout their growth, development and life, and to increase their quality of life; investigates, evaluates and finds solutions to health problems arising from nutrients, food and nutrition; ensures that existing food resources are used in accordance with economic and health rules, conducts food control, informs and raises awareness of individuals and society in order to adopt physiologically, psychologically and sociologically healthy lifestyles on these issues, plans diet programs according to the composition of natural and therapeutic nutrients suitable for medical and surgical treatments in congenital and acquired diseases and other special cases, provides training, plans, implements and monitors training programs.
Dietitians who graduate from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics have the opportunity to work in many areas such as treatment institutions (private and public hospitals, polyclinics, health centers, enteral-parenteral teams, dialysis units, etc.), mass nutrition systems (food factories, hotel food and beverage departments, all private and public institutions providing mass nutrition, nurseries, schools, etc.), institutions providing public health services (maternal and child health centers, family health centers, child and elderly care homes, sports schools, etc.), food industry, research institutions and educational institutions.
Bursa Uludağ University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics aims to train dietitians who are professionally competent , have universal thoughts and values, and are respectful of cultural and ethical values , in accordance with the qualifications determined within the framework of international standards .
