Undergraduate

The main aim of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration is to provide the necessary academic formation and intellectual knowledge to individuals who will take part in various management levels of the public sector and to gain the ability to think freely and critically.
During the four-year undergraduate education in our department, in addition to the basic courses in the fields of Management Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Urbanisation and Environmental Problems, and Legal Sciences, courses from fields such as Economics, Finance, International Relations, Business Administration, Labour Economics and Econometrics are given.
In addition to 31 compulsory courses and 12 elective courses, there are 3 Higher Education Courses (Turkish Language, Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution and Foreign Language). To successfully complete the undergraduate program, it is necessary to pass all the courses (equivalent to 240 ECTS) and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.
Students are subjected to at least 1 midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from the measurement tools such as homework, quizzes, etc. can also be considered as midterm grades) to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%.
All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. The final exam limit is 50 points and the raw grade limit is 50 points. Students who receive one of the letter grades AA, BA, BB, CB or CC from a course are considered to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. For a student to succeed in a course with a DC or DD grade, the overall weighted grade point average must be at least 2.0.
